A 7-year-old boy with congenital polycystic disease of the kidneys and liver developed portal hypertension and gastro-oesophageal varices. After two episodes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, percutaneous transhepatic occlusion of varices and of the left gastric vein was carried out.
